Building a Grammar Musical From the Ground Up
The Angry Grammarian musical is coming -- if we make it so.
As some readers know, The Angry Grammarian is not just a snarky column that mouths off about grammar — it’s also a brand-new musical. Long in development, The Angry Grammarian will finally have its world premiere in March 2024, when Philadelphia’s Pier Players Theatre Company will be staging the show for the first time.
It’s a delightful romantic comedy … about grammar. But like any show, we need a lot of things, and those things don’t come cheap.
Periods.
Commas.
Independent clauses.
Verbs. Oh so many verbs.
Pier Players has launched a crowdfunding campaign to help make the show happen. We’d love if you’d consider supporting it.
The perks are one-of-a-kind, including:
Signed copies of books by language luminaries including Lynne Truss, Mary Norris and Ben Yagoda.
Play online Scrabble against the Angry Grammarian … and if you win, he’ll trumpet your victory online.
The Angry Grammarian edits your cover letter (or book report or fan fiction or love letter or whatever you want).
A custom-written song about you or your loved one or your nemesis.
… so many more.
